My little boy is really learning fast but I have noticed that he is getting confused with square and rectangle shape. I tried to explain and show him the difference of the square and rectangle through different objects but still there are times that he is not sure. I was thinking of other ways to make it clear for him for him.
One day before we go to bed, I told him a nursery story. He ask me to lie beside him so I did then I remember his confusion with square and rectangle shapes. Since my pillow has a rectangular shape I told him that mommy is using a rectangle pillow and I decided to gave him a smaller pillow which has a shape of a square. Every time we go to bed I always tell him the shape of pillow we use. For me, it is very effective to help my child develop his mind in comparing two shapes of almost the same kind by showing him things that we usually use and see. Same with colors and numbers.
