Last Saturday afternoon my family and I watched the musical stage play at De La Salle Araneta University (formerly Gregorio Araneta University Foundation). The title of the musical stage play is “A is E for Laila” – A native tongue is tougher that a spoon-fed mind- written and directed by my younger brother Engr. Aleksandre Pates. As I enter the lobby of the school, I reminisce the wonderful memories of my grade school and high school life when I used to be a student there. I so love my Alma Mater!
The musical stage play is about a graduating native student from the provice who passed the scholarship in the big university located at the city. The story focus on Laila’s life as a new student in Bright university where she was being teased by her famous and rich classmate Althea who consider as her rivalry in the university singing contest. It showed the transformation of Laila (lead character) from being a student who lack self-confidence having a difficulty with the spoken neutral dialect to a better high-spirited student.
A big hand of applause to the director, cast, crew and all the people behind “A is E for Laila” musical stage play because the show is terrifically amazing. This is a very good extra curricular activities for the students to show and share their talents. Having different stage play shows in school will improve the student’s talent that builds their self-confidence and communication skills. Keep up the good work!
The musical stage play is a fund raising project of the cultural arts unit in support to the DLSAU scholarship fund.
