In support and concern for those who have been affected by a Natural Disaster especially now that the super typhoon “Haiyan” or Yolanda hits mostly the Visayas part in the Philippines, aside from the donations that we can give, I think that prayer is the best that we can offer for them.
If you watch or read the news about what had happened after the super typhoon landed on the affected area, it is truly heart-wrecking to see how bad and hard it had caused to hundred lives of people who experience that kind of disaster.
With this beautiful prayer by Saint Augustine of Hippo (354-430), bishop and doctor of the Church, I wish them well and hoping for a positive outlook even in the midst of disaster and tragedy that there is always love from God that will keep them strong and high in spirit to rebuild their homes, community, and everything that matters.
Whatever natural disaster that may come our way – storms, tornadoes, hurricanes, blizzards, floods, earthquakes—or by human tragedy, we should always pray and hope for a brighter tomorrow.
A Prayer for Protection
Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight, and give Your angels and saints charge over those who sleep. Tend Your sick ones, O Lord Christ. Rest Your weary ones. Bless Your dying ones. Soothe Your suffering ones. Pity Your afflicted ones. Shield Your joyous ones, and all for Your love’s sake. Amen.
