Gly Derm Stretch Mark Cream Review

November 11, 2013 1 Comment

When I got pregnant I started to noticed the appearance of stretch marks on my lower abdomen, and back of my mid legs. I know most moms who gave birth have this stretch marks and I consider this as my wonder, super mommy mark. Some moms are lucky enough that they do not have any stretchmarks. Other moms says that they’ve used a stretch mark cream while they are pregnant to keep their skin moisturize to prevent the occurrence of stretch marks.

Where do stretch marks come from?

Skin suppleness is guaranteed by a network of elasticity and collage fibers. During puberty, weight fluctuations and pregnancy, skin stretching  and hormonal changes weakens skin and causes these fibers to break. This is when lines on the skin appear, known as stretch marks.

After I gave birth with my first baby, I tried several products for my stretch marks. I tried the Avon solutions stretch marks cream, rose hip oil, and emu oil. I can say that it helps in improving the affected area with stretch marks. You will not see the result in an instance but you have to be patient and follow the instructions in applying the cream and oil continuously in longer period of time for best results. Normally you can see results in a month or two just like with what I am using right now. Gly Derm is the first stretch mark cream product that I have used after giving birth with my second baby who is now ten months of age.

In the photo above, I was able to try the Gly Derm Stretch marks cream for almost six weeks now. From the packaging, it says that Gly Derm is specially formulated using natural ingredients with dual-functions that help in rebuilding collagen and regaining skin elasticity. These functions helps to improve the color and reduce the size of the stretch marks. This product is developed by Sinclair Pharmaceuticals Ltd. in Paris, France. In the ingredients, I am curious about the Centella Asiatica Extract so I made a little research. I found out that Centella Asiatica is also know as Gotu Kola which is used for wound healing and reducing scars, includiung stretch marks caused by pregnancy.

How to use Gly Derm Stretch mark cream?

Just gently massage onto the skin twice a day. First, I apply it in the morning after shower and in the evening before bedtime.

My experience in using Gly Derm stretch mark cream

It is very easy to use Gly Derm stretch mark cream because you only have to apply it onto skin. The cream is non-greasy and it is quickly absorb by your skin when you apply it. It is dermatologically tested, preservative free, and fragrance free which is why when I applied this cream, it is gentle, not itchy, and no odor. I was not able to capture my before photos but my husband already notice the improvement of my skin in the affected area with stretch marks. I have been using this for almost six weeks now. I believe that with continued use, I will see better results. Aside from the stretch mark cream, I am also using a body butter soap to keep my skin moisturize. I will update this post for the photo of my results.

I have seen Gly Derm products in mercury drugstores and it is available in two sizes. The smaller size cost around Php 400 and the bigger size is around Php 750.

I wish I could wear sport midrib top while I dance Zumba and shorts even at home just like before when I don’t have stretch marks. For me, stretch marks are normal to see with most moms and like what I’ve said in the first paragraph, I consider it is a mark for being a wonder, super mommy accompanied when I got pregnant. Even if I am a mom already I still wanted to look nice and good for my family and for myself too. My husband loves me so much even I have these stretch marks but I think I would be lovelier with good skin and of course good health.

How about you? What is your experience in using stretch mark cream?
