This love month, allow me to share to you my very interesting love story. Have you ever felt in love but resist it? During my high school days, my teenage life was very colorful. Read a part of my secret love story here that is now revealed. Let us start with my High School Puppy Love story.
I was a very simple girl in our campus. I am an average girl who is usually pointed by my classmates and teachers to sing and perform in school programs and even in the classroom. I’m lucky to be always included in the star section and grateful to be talented in singing, dancing, oratorical, and sports. I can say that for an average high school teenage girl, my life is colorful. I enjoyed what a typical high school girl would want – Intrams, Cheerings squad, different clubs and organizations, sing and dance group, school competitions, and of course the Junior-Senior Promenade.
I have several suitors in high school which I entertained but decided not to be one of their girlfriends. There are two hip hop guys from the other section, a classmate, a Corps Commander, and a suitor from the higher level. Imagine how long and tangled my hair during that time (joking). In my JS prom, I won the “Prom Queen” title when I was in third year. Again, I was picked to be in the top list that will be in the ramp for the Prom Queen title in my senior year but I refused to accept it and told the organizers to give others a chance 🙂 (One of my character traits is to give way to others especially when I already experienced it). So, what happened during my JS prom? I was never seated because someone would always want to dance with me or to talk to me to get to know me better. I was a nice student seeing my classmates, friends, and teachers telling me to entertain them all so I did. Not all of them but I tried to accommodate most of them. I am so loved with flowers, chocolates, and love letters during my High School days. My friends squeaked the moment a suitor approached me while as always I am just plain and simple. I think most guys during those days admire girls who are simple and talented.
The problem with so many suitors is on how to decline from their offerings or gifts. Being a nice girl, I do not want a person to be rejected because I know how painful it is. My parents are kind enough to let my suitors visit our house but with their kindness I never took advantage of it. I let some of them visit our humble abode. I recall I even give them schedule because there are times that both wanted to accompany me in going home. Sometimes I hide from them and find a different way home with the help of my friends so that I could escape from them.
Among the guys who courted me during high school days, I committed my heart with nobody. How did I answer “No”? I felt that it was only puppy love even if I already like the person during my high school days. Some gave up because I when I talked to them I would always told them about my dreams to finish college first before entering into a relationship. Having said that, I guessed I really didn’t broke their heart or maybe just part of it. The last man standing in courting me is from a higher level. Let’s call him Dwin. He is truly eager to win me. I was in third year high school and he was a graduating senior. He courted me almost a year and before he graduated he gave me a deadline. He was a good looking guy, beautiful eyes, nose, lips with cute smiles. The deadline is on his graduation and recognition day. He was an honor student and told me that I inspired him. His deal is, if I attended the graduation day that means that I accepted him as my boyfriend. But, if I didn’t showed up you know what it means. I truly liked this guy and started to falling in love with him but I hold on to my principle that is why I didn’t showed up on his graduation day.
My friend who was there in the graduation told me that Dwin was really heart-broken. He was teary-eyed when he handed the last love letter he wrote for me. Dwin told my friend that he knew it so he prepared a letter for me. So, what’s inside his letter? While reading his letter, I felt his too much admiration and love but there is also an anger. He wished that in the future, we never cross our ways. He is truly hurt. I tried to look for him in facebook and I am happy to see him that now he has his own family.
This is my High School Puppy Love story – my share to our love month “Valentine’s season”. Stay tuned for my college love story.
