What are the things to consider when choosing a swimsuit or bathing suit? Even moms should pick the appropriate swimsuit as my sister told me. We might not have that super sexy body when we are still single but, we should wear the proper swimming attire best suited for our body type. My sister is a fashionista. I am not, but, I go for clothing comfort and picks what’s appropriate for my body type. So, I come up with the Best Swimsuit for Body Type. How to choose a great swinwear for our body type? Here’s a little research done by my mommy friend to help us find the best swimsuit.

First, let us find out our body type so that you will better understand the Best Swimsuit for Body Type.
Four Common Female Body Shapes
- Apple (inverted triangle)
Apple-shaped women have broader shoulders and bust, and narrower hips. Your shoulders and a bust area that is wider than your hips and thighs. Most catwalk models sport this body shape, which usually comes with nice lean legs. - Banana, or straight (rectangular)
Banana-shaped women’s waist measurement is less than 9 inches smaller than the hip or bust measurement. Your shoulders and bust are proportioned with your hips and thighs, but your waist lacks definition. If you’re lucky to have this shape, you can enjoy having a balanced looking figure even if you gain or lose weight. - Pear, Spoon, or Bell (triangle)
Pear-shaped women’s hip measurements are greater than their bust measurements. You have wide hips and thighs, narrow shoulders and a small bust. The best reason to be happy with a triangular-shaped body is that it means having great bottom curves. - Hourglass Shape
Here, the hip and bust are almost of equal size, with a narrow waist. Your shoulders and bust are well-proportioned with your hips and thighs and you have a defined waist. Imagine yourself as a modern-day Marilyn Monroe if you possess this shape.

Bathing Suits for Banana, or straight (rectangular)
A Banana or straight (rectangular) shape body , straight up and down from shoulder to thigh with very little waist definition. Much like a model’s physique.
Recommended swimsuit: High-neck swimsuits with halter style. This exposes a huge amount of shoulder, which widens them and makes your waist look small and defined by comparison. The winning attribute on both of these suits is the added waist definition.
The horizontal lines on the chest gives width to that area, and the vertical and horizontal ones across the hips do the same. A tie belt that wraps around the waist is also good to look at.

Bathing Suits for Apple (inverted triangle) Shapes Body
If you’re skinny, you can wear almost any swimsuit or bikini style, but if you’re older or chubbier, you should pay attention to swimsuit prints, necklines, and silhouettes.
A great bathing suit will make people notice your breasts and your skinny legs rather than your fat tum. Details near your chest or neck are fabulous. High-cut bottoms are also great as long as they aren’t high enough to show the stretch marks from your first pregnancy and because your upper body looks wider than it should, you need to shop around for the right neckline. Here are the ones I like. The best swimsuit to hide tummy are the ones shown in the picture below, girly design with raffles and swimsuit with extra cover up to hide tummy.
Plunging necklines break up the space between your broad shoulders, making your body look narrower than it is. V-necks and halters are also good for thick torsos and short necks.
Prints as comouflage. A good print will be somewhat confusing and act like camouflage. Leopard is an excellent example. Allover prints with lots of contrast are usually good, too. Try on different sizes of prints to see what looks good from the front, then turn sideways and see if your tummy area looks okay.

Bathing Suits for Pear Shapes Body (triangle)
If you have a pear shapely body, they say you’re blessed with a full backside. I suggest to look for skirted or full-coverage bottoms and tops with details that will draw the eye upward, side cutouts sculpt the midsection. The dark vertical pattern down the middle effectively narrows the figure. I think my body type falls in this category, so , I better choose this as the Best Swimsuit for Body Type of mine.

A Fash-pack favorite, Marysia is the coolest bikini, brand on the swimwear map, and we think this playful printed style is a great choice.
Bikinis for hourglass shapes don’t need to be boring. Bikinis styles with high leg, a halter strap, plus, and a cool cut out wrap-bikini top are said to be wonderful for hour glass body type. Stripes can be flattering, and the halter-style from Topshop proves it.
