The making of Pansit-pansitan Veggie Salad Recipe. I was really curious about the pansit-pansitan plant. I have read that it is an edible plant and considered as one of the herbal plants listed in the Philippines.

According to Medical Health Guide, Pansit-pansitan (Peperomia pellucida Linn)is a common fleshy shallow rooted herb that has been used as food item as well as a medicinal herb . The entire plant is edible both cooked or raw.

Pansit-pansitan provides health benefits for gout, arthritis and other inflammatory conditions.

Other names of Pansit-pansitan:

Pansit-pansitan, Ulasimang bato, Clear weed, Shiny bush, Silver bush, Cao hu jiao

Pansit-pansitan Veggie Salad Recipe

In making Pansit-pansitan Veggie Recipe, most of the people who eats this kind of herbal prefer to make it a salad recipe.

Ingredients: Pansit-pansitan, white onions (minced), tomatoes, pickled mango (optional), salt and pepper

Procedure:

  1. Wash thorougly the vegetables. Blanch the pansit-pansitan and cut it an inch size Stem with leaves.
  2. Cut the onions and tomatoes into small cubes.
  3. Combine all the ingredients.
  4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

This Pansit-pansitan veggie salad recipe is best paired with any fried fish and rice.

What is the taste of pansit-pansitan? According to some people, it has a mild pepper taste. Upon tasting it, I think I just tasted a mild bitterness as my after taste. My mom-in-law who also tried it said that she tasted a somewhat mild pepper in the pansit-pansitan.

I will definitely prepare this simple yet so healthy recipe.
