I know most of us are on a tight budget this Christmas season because majority of us donated part of our savings and bonuses to the victims of the disaster – typhoon Yolanda and those affected in Bohol earthquake. Instead of buying expensive Christmas gifts, I have decided to limit my expenditures this Christmas. Buying affordable gifts but in good quality and taste is my solution. Let me share my budget Christmas shopping experience in Monumento, Caloocan City.

Affordable Christmas Gifts at Uniwide Sales Monumento
The last time that I shop in Uniwide Sales Monumento was year 2011. Their products for sale there are totally low in prices. At Uniwide Sales you can find the cheapest, lowest, and very affordable things for home when compared to other nearby establishments. Until now 2013, there are many good buys at very affordable price that you can find here perfect for budget-wise individuals. Since the price is very low – here’s the catch, you may find items which are not in good condition or with defects or damages. That is why you have to be wise and smart in choosing the things to buy.
The beautiful ceramic plates with Christmas theme design in the photo above are some of the good buys to consider as Christmas gifts in Uniwide Sales Monumento. Other things that you can find good for giveaways or Christmas gifts are mugs, glasses, different decors, stuff toys, and a lot more.

Affordable Christmas paper bags at Uniwide Sales, Caloocan City
Are you having a gift-wrapping problem? Not anymore because in Uniwide Sales they have a wholesale price (Bagsak presyo) for paper bags in different designs. The price of the paper bag is only Php150 per kilo. I bought here the smallest paper bag in bulk that were used for giveaways about one kilo for 45 pieces of small paper bag with elegant color and designs. Imagine the elegant small paper bag that I bought only cost Php2.50 per piece – that is absolutely cheap!
My tip if you are buying in bulk at Uniwide Sales is first observe what are the items on sale, read the pricing carefully, look for their different sample display then approach the salesman or saleslady. Ask for assistance and tell him what you like to buy so they can re-stock if ever the items on display are not enough or has defects, this way you can choose carefully.
Aside from Uniwide Sales, there are many neighboring establishments in Monumento where you can buy low items. I was saddened when Grand Central was burned and has been totally closed a few years ago because this is also a good place in buying things with good discounts.
Now, Victory mall in Monumento is popular. What can you buy in Victory Mall? There’s a lot but do not expect that you can buy signature clothing when compared to Grand Central before. In front of Victory Mall facing the LRT line, you can buy fresh fruits, kakanin, plants for sale, and other local foods. Inside the victory mall, there huge selections of tiangge. At the ground floor, you can find selection of shoes and sandals (mostly made from Korea). At the second floor, wide selection of clothes. Some of the places that are remarkable to me are the Hello Kitty store, Costume boutique for kids (I forgot the exact name), Baby and kids boutique selling low price high quality local baby clothing which are being exported, and the embroidery section where you can personalize cloths or clothing with name embroidery and designs at an affordable price.
Still in Victory mall if you get hungry, you can choose what you want to eat. There is Mc Donalds, Tokyo Tokyo, Jollibee, Mang Inasal, Goldilocks, Chinese restaurant, and a lot more. There are also many food kiosks for siomai, pinoy, korean, japanese, local, etc. You do not have to go to Binondo to buy Eng Bee Tin products because they have a small store at the ground floor. The only thing that I noticed in Victory mall is that this place is small, crowded, and there are no well-known signature boutiques in clothing line.
Another good mall to visit in Monumento is the Jackman Plaza. This is also small but they have good management and offer affordable products. Their souvenir/ giveaways area is a remarkable place for me because if you run out of time or in a rush, you can order souvenir or giveaways with thank you tags design in an hour. Their staff here are very friendly and approachable. I also bought an affordable but with good quality walking shoes for my baby here.
How I’ve wanted to share more but my time is really tight and I need to sleep now. Next time, I will share my budget shopping experience in Quezon City. If you live near at Monumento, Caloocan City, be sure not to miss visiting the places that I have mentioned above. Shopping there is not only for the kuripot, class B or class C type of individuals as they say, but these malls or establishments are for all shoppers who wanted to make the best of their budget.
Why not go to Divisoria if you can make your budget shopping here in Monumento Caloocan City.
Remember that no matter how big, small, expensive or low your gift is, it’s always the thought that counts big time! Happy shopping!
