Are you looking for a wedding poem? How do couples manage a good marriage? Is there an Art of marriage? Well, in this modern world, I encountered different situations of married couples. Each case depends on certain acts, affairs, culture, traditions, and activities that a couple do. Here’s a beautiful marriage poem that almost describes marriage in a sensible manner.
The Art of Marriage by Wilferd A. Peterson Wonderful! Isn’t it? Wilferd A. Peterson was an American author who wrote for This Week magazine (a national Sunday supplement in newspapers). This is his most well known writing that has been called by Souvenir Press the “most frequently recited English-language wedding poems and one of the greatest odes to matrimony. It embodies the sentiments, the ideals, and the love to which any marriage aspires. The memorable simplicity of its language makes the poem a touchstone for all couples, both at the start of a relationship and after the blessings of a lifetime in love.” This is a must read Wedding Poem for Marriage Life!
What are the lines that got you? Or, which line do you like most? I’ve got all, most especially the lines 2 to 11. I think if a couple possess those lines, everything follows.
A good marriage must be created. Along the path of a marriage life, one cannot tell what lies ahead. So, no matter how good you wanted your marriage is, there will be trials that will test the couple.
In the art of marriage, the little things are the big things. I deem it has something to do with accomplishments, progress, or success. That no matter how small the achievement/progress is, the impact is momentous in your family.
It is never being too old to hold hands. I super agree! You know how a mom feels when you have someone to hold on. She feels that she is not alone. That no matter how she ages (she might have experience thinning hair, grown a big belly, or saggy skin), the man holding her hands still loves her and proud of having his wife beside her.
It is remembering to say “I love you” at least once a day. I believe that these three words “I love you” are the powerful words of a marriage. Once you said it to your spouse, it echoes throughout the day. It is giving you power and a different kind of energy to be at your best. It remembers the love for your partner and that you are loved.
It is never going to sleep angry. I guess saying good night or kissing good night before bedtime is a must. Even if you are both tired from all days work, there should be this kind of engagement at night.
It is at no time taking the other for granted; the courtship should not end with the honeymoon, it should continue through all the years. For me, this is important. How can you go on with your marriage life when you have taken the other for granted? The courtship has something to do with regular date with your spouse. Anything or any words that make your spouse happy, surprise, and feel loved.
It is having a mutual sense of values and common objectives. Being in a marriage life, your common objectives are one. That you both agreed on it, understands each other, support each other, and work together to accomplish it.
It is standing together facing the world. Being together is making you both stronger. That you can overcome whatever trials may come in your direction.
It is forming a circle of love that gathers in the whole family. Love should always be in your hearts. A circle of love has a domino effect on the family. When there is love, there will be a harmonious relationship among the members of the family. It started with a love, it should be kept growing so there will a what they say “FOREVER“!
I’m sure you like this poem that I consider to the be the best wedding poem. What can you say about the poem?
