We’re approaching Back-to-School 2018. Okay, my kids just started their school summer vacation. But, still most of the schools are starting their class this June. So, with this we will be featuring  Back-to-School updates for 2018, promo, school supplies price updates, and sort of buying tips here.

As parents, we want smart buys and get extra savings when we buy things most especially this back-to-school season. To do that, purchasing school supplies should be done in an orderly. We should make an accurate list of our child’s school supplies. This way, we can set the budget to avoid over expenditures. It is better to shop in the morning to avoid the crowd. Store shelves are stocked overnight so you’ll discover great finds in an organized shelves and complete inventory. Markers, pencils, pens, adhesive tapes, bond papers and pad papers are some essential school supplies to store at home. To develop your child’s awareness for school preparation as a sense of responsibility, it is good to consider bringing them when shopping for their school supplies.

Backpack Buying Tips

How do you pick the best backpack for your child when you’re facing a full aisle in the store? Here are a few things to keep in mind when you’re shopping.

• Two straps: This will distribute the weight evenly and is safer for the carrier’s back, neck and shoulders.
• Reflective: If children will be walking home from school or out at night, their backpack should have pieces of reflective material on the bag.
• Fit: Have your child try on the bag before you purchase it. The bottom of the bag should meet the lower back, but should not be more than 4 inches below the waistline. The point at which the bag and straps meet should be 1 to 2 inches below the top of the shoulders.
• Weight: When you’ve selected the right backpack, make sure you don’t overload it. The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons recommends that a backpack should not exceed 15 to 20 percent of a child’s body weight, but the American Academy of Pediatrics recommends not exceeding 10 percent.
