Ways to keep a toddler behave

March 9, 2012 Leave a Comment

Toddler mood swings and tantrums are one of the biggest challenge that most moms encountered. Aside from monitoring the weight gain of my child, I also focus on his mood swings. My little boy just started in toddler’s playgroup that I mentioned in “Kid’s educational summer programs at Habits of the mind” and from there he is beginning on the adjustment stage to meet and play with different kids of almost the same age.

Every day, I need to be a supermom. At this stage, the most noticeable attitude about my kid is being moody. He easily became mad when  he did not get what he wants. He did not like eating the regular meals. Sometimes I end giving him light punishment but he always says “Mommy I am sorry, I will not do it again.” Then again he will do it again. This little kid is very playful, active and I think he is naughty too. I  am on the process of finding different ways to keep him behave without sacrificing his joy of childhood.

Because of the modern technology nowadays, letting him play with my smartphone when we are out of the house is one way to keep him behave. This is just temporary and before your phone battery drain, it is better to look for other things to entertain him like bring his favorite toy or make pleasurable stories for kids.
