In my recent post “Boost your metabolism for a healthy trim“, I have mentioned that grapefruit diet is very effective in weight loss. I actually did the 3-day grapefruit diet a few years ago. The main reason of trying this quick diet is that I wanted to shed a little more pounds in my wedding. I research online and followed the simple 3-day Grapefruit Diet meal that I found.
Effective 3-day Grapefruit Diet
This includes three specific meals for three days. There are several ways or plan that you can setup for each meal. It requires that you eat one grapefruit per day that is half grapefruit for breakfast and the other half for dinner. Grains and starchy foods should be avoided in the diet.
Note: The said Effective 3-day Grapefruit Diet is not recommended by doctors. When I did this diet, I tried to do this once every other week. That aids my body to shed those unwanted pounds and still nourish my body with the essential vitamins and minerals after the 3-day diet with normal healthy foods intake.
- 1/2 grapefruit
- 1 slice toast (preferably wheat bread) with 1 Tbsp. Peanut Butter or egg
- Coffe or tea or low-calorie juice
- 1/2 Cup of Tuna
- 1 slice toast
- Pineapple juice
- 3 oz. any lean meat
- 1 cup green beans/ carrots
- 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream
- 1 medium apple
- 1/2 grapefruit
Effective 3-day Grapefruit Diet Results:
You can easily cut down 2-3 pounds after the diet. Due to the limited food intake, you may find it hard to have a regular bowel movement. That is the reason why I only do this once after every week (bi-monthly) so that I can have regular bowel movement and to take the essential vitamins and minerals. Although this is fad, after the diet you can actually discipline yourself in eating less and choosing more nutritious fruits and veggies to maintain your healthy diet.
