• Says first word

• Prefer certain toys and books
• Responds to certain requests like “Sit”

• Stands alone
• Walks with one hand held
• Takes first steps
• can say two or three words
• Uses two words skillfully (e.g. “hi” and “bye”)
• Bends over and picks up objects

• Follows a story
• Points to body parts when asked
• Pushes and pulls toys while walking
• Matches lids with appropriate containers (e.g. pots and cans)

• Vocabulary increases up to five words
• Knows name of some parts of the body
• Plays with ball
• Can walk backwards
• Kneels

• Switches from two naps to one

• Sorts toys by color, shape or size
