I always wanted to have my own house and lot. Although my parents have enough space to shelter our extended families, the feeling is really different when you are independently living with your own family. It was a blessing when my close friend in high school mentioned that she is working in a real estate. My husband and I already canvass in different real estate properties but we were uncertain. My close friend in high school helped us to land in our first real estate property. I ask her so many questions until I finally learned then tell my husband the things that we should consider in buying our house and lot.
Here’s what I consider in buying a house and lot.
- Location is on top of the list especially if you are planning to raise your own family there. An accessible place with good community would be ideal.
- Choose at least two to three different locations. Since you are just about to buy, having two or three different locations will give you some comparison on the best deal that the real estate agent or broker can offer.
- Examine the location/s and try to learn more about the community. You can try to search online first about it, ask some friends who knew the area and observe the community when you are on tripping.
- Deal only with the trusted real estate agent or broker just like in kansas city real estate or missouri real estate. That means that the real estate broker has processed satisfied customers. Since my close friend is a real estate agent she directly introduced me to the real estate area manager. It was a big help to become acquainted with the area manager because we had a great deal giving us big discount.
- Before you close the deal with the real estate broker, ask everything that you would like to know on the property. Read the documents carefully before signing it up and coordinate with them if there is unclear information on the document.
- When you complete the deal, you should know the next process and the approximate processing time.

Things become easier to an informed buyer. This renders every deal cost-efficient. It lessens the worries regarding his agents as he is more or less knowledgeable of what he is doing. Networking in this case would also make things faster – referals from close friends and their suggestions offer choices. All you have to do is to compare these suggestions from your the standards you have set in looking for a property.

We’re definitely considering a lot when we’re having our house constructed next year. Thanks for sharing because I picked up a few tips.

My one regret when I left home was that I didn’t invest early on on real estate, especially in Tagaytay which is 15 minutes from where I grew up. 🙂 Great points highlighted, thanks!

I think we have the same thoughts on the reasons or what are the things we should consider first before buying a home:)

location was definitely on top of my list when we bought our home. it’s near schools, shopping centers and best of all, it’s near transportation lines. and it’s a safe neighborhood and flood-free.

I agree with your considerations. Buying a house and lot is not easy. We should always think of long-term plans when buying such investments. Thanks for sharing!

The best to ask is the neighborhood. Does it flood? Is water always available? Is it safe?
