Are you looking for a pawnshop with the highest appraisal rate? That is actually what I look for recently. I have an urgent need of cash to help up with my parent’s medication. I thought of pawning my rings as an option to have quick cash. Is Cebuana Lhuillier pawnshop with highest appraisal rate? This is the popular pawnshop I’ve been seeing in most of the commercial establishments. So, I did a Sangla Appraisal Test among three pawnshops including this Cebuana Lhuillier and here’s what I discovered. 

Before telling you the answer if Cebuana Lhuillier pawnshop with highest appraisal rate, let me share my sangla story. This is not my first time to pawn jewelry. It was my elder sister who introduced me how to pawn or do sangla using gold jewelries she has. She loves to collect accessories and jewelries. No wonder she have more than a dozen of those at home. My husband knew it and I admit that during our first years of marriage, we’ve encountered financial obstacles. We started from scratch. We do not own any properties. I am not ashamed to share it because it was a memorable part in my marriage life where we strive to do better with our family finances. As a replacement to my unredeemed engagement ring, I received a pair of diamond rings. It is what I called a mother and daughter ring. Today, not to brag but to inspire, due to patience and hard work, we now have two properties, vehicles, and some investments.

Although our family financial status seems stable, there are unexpected expenditures. Like what just happened to my father who was diagnosed with a lung problem. As a daughter, I contributed to my father’s medical funds. He was confined and had undergone operation twice this year. We are still grateful that he overcame that phase and was able to fully recover. But, for continuous medication, he still needs financial assistance from us. My husband and I have set our budget for our family’s account. I do not want to just take money from it and disorganized the planned account. Since I have a pair of rings just sitting in my jewelry box, I opt to pawn it to have that extra fund for my father’s continuous medication. I am confident that I can redeem it within 30 days because I am expecting compensation. This is the reason why I was looking a pawnshop with the highest appraisal rate. 

Is true that Cebuana Lhuillier has the Highest Appraisal Rate?

I need real answer so I personally did what I called “Sangla Appraisal Test” among three pawnshops including this Cebuana Lhuillier. Prior to this test, I set my own guidelines before I eventually pawn my rings.

My pawning guidelines:

• It should give the best value of my items. This is why I am looking for a pawnshop with the highest appraisal rate.
• The pawnshop should be a safe and secured place to pawn my items.
• Easy and convenient ways to pawn, renew, and redeem.

When going to a pawnshop or sanglaan, I suggest that you go there during off-peak hours. I preferred 9:30am or after lunch time at around 1pm. The jewelry that I will be pawning is my pair of lady ring (I called it mother and daughter twinning ring). The bigger ring or “mother ring” is a diamond ring with baguettes side stones. I wore the mother ring while I secured the daughter ring or the smaller one in my safe tiny pocket.  The mother diamond ring weighs 3.7 grams with baguettes side stones while the daughter ring or the smaller one weighs 1.8 grams with one precious stone, as shown in the picture above.

Let’s just call the first pawnshop I visited as Pawnshop X. I noticed from their display that pawnshop X have low interest rate. I just wished that their appraisal rate with jewelry is not low as their interest rate. I was disappointed because the appraisal value of my rings was low. Their personnel told me that the precious stones are not included in the appraise value they gave. I feel that jewels with precious stones will be devalued if you pawned it in this pawnshop that is not considering or appraising the value of the gems or the stones attached to your gold jewels.

I moved to another sanglaan that we can call Pawnshop Y. This pawnshop has more comfortable seats for waiting customers compared to Pawnshop X. The color and logo of this pawnshop is more attractive to look at compared to the first one. When it comes to appraisal rate, their appraised value is a little higher compared to the pawnshop where I first went in. But still, I am not satisfied with the appraised value because just like Pawnshop X, they do not give appraisal to the precious stones attached to my gold jewels.

Lastly, I went to Cebuana Lhuiller Pawnshop. The blue color of their company advertisement board has a resemblance with a vintage blue which I think looks classy. The appraiser carefully examined my two rings. He explained that both of the stones attached to my gold rings are A+ meaning it have good diamond quality.

Because Cebuana Lhuiller gives appraisal to precious stones like diamonds, the appraised values to both of my lady rings were truly higher compared to the first two pawnshops.
