Where to Find Caregiver in the Philippines?
It is truly hard when a family member gets seriously ill. My heart aches seeing my father in pain. We love to take care of him, but the real situation of having a responsibility your own family divides the longing to take over. That is why we seek a solution to ease the situation in that matter.
In the case of my dad, he can’t sit or stand on his own. He needs a support when sitting, standing, eating, and in cleaning himself. Due to his elderly age and sickness, he gets weak. Making him hard to do the usual things he use to do.
As a family, we take turns in taking care of him. My mother is still in good condition, but we do not want her alone in caring for my father. She is also a senior citizen and she might get weak for prolong support in carrying the weight when assisting him. With my sibling, we opted to look for a caregiver. At first, we do not like the idea. It is expensive to hire a private caregiver except it has an advantage of full support for the patient. Having one to monitor my dad’s condition gives us a relief that someone fully takes care of him.

When I googled, I found some agencies or companies specializing in Caregiving services. I inquired at HHC or Home Health Care. What is the standard rate of caregivers? When I asked different caregivers and companies, most of them said that the Caregiving service rate is 1,200 for 12 hours.

I tried to privately send a message to them via messenger. Thankfully, they replied. To help them refer a caregiver, they asked some details. The details they need are the following: Patient’s age and gender, condition, location, time of duty, and contact details. In their caregiver community, they want to help each other and they also want to help families in need of their service.
When hiring a caregiver, the employer or patient’s family should consider asking the applicant for the caregiver training and certificates. This is to make sure that the
If you hire a private caregiver, it is important to have an agreement. I’ll be sharing the agreement I made in my next post.
Grateful that the caregiver they referred to us is good at work. He also submitted his caregiver training and certificates.

I am now in the same situation with my mother who is 95 years old, needing a full-time care giver. Right now this responsibility is being carried by my brother and myself. Both of us has work so it is becoming extremely diffcult for us to provide the proper care that my Mom deserves. Can you help me with some referrals you may already have or at least point me to the right direction where I can find legitimate and professional care givers.
Thank you.
