It is believe that preparing 12 or 13 fruits on the table before the new year comes brings good luck for the new year round. Yearly, my family always prepare fruits that are said to be lucky. The fruits should be round, fresh and colorful not dull. Aside from different delicious foods prepared on the table, fruits are good after eating oily foods. The table looks attractive when there are fruits on the table as it adds color and life to dining.

- Pineapple
- Honey Dew
- Melon
- Orange
- Grapes
- Lemon
- Mango
- Pomelo
- Kiat Kiat / Ponkan
- Strawberries or Castanas
- Dalandan
- Papaya
- Green Apple
The list of lucky fruits above are some of my suggestions. Some say that fruits having black seeds should be avoided but it would still depends on you. The photo shown above are the fruits that my family prepared last 2010 to welcome the 2011. For us, we prepare fruits because we love the good health benefits of eating them and the luck that it brings is just an added factor.
