It was almost two years ago when I started using vlc media player in my notebookcomputer. My husband was the one who setup and download vlc media player. Since then we used it every time we play videos. There are many advantages and features of using vlc media player compared to the classic media player. Let me share some of the advantages and features that I experience from using it.
Advantages of using vlc media player
- It supports professional media formats 10bits, Blu-ray & more. VLC supports all audio and video formats and all file formats supported by libavcodec and libavformat.
- It delivers higher quality picture & subtitles from enhanced rendering pipeline
- It is one of the free software and open source DVD players that pass over DVD region coding on RPC-1 firmware drives, making it a region-free player.
- The best advantage that I have used in vlc media player is the capability to rotate the video which cannot be done on the classic media player. VLC has some filters that can rotate, split, distort, deinterlace, mirror videos, create display walls, or add a logo overlay.
How to rotate videos in vlc media player? It was so simple to do it. When you open vlc media player, under menu – go to tools then click on effects and filters. Under adjustment and filters, go to video effects – Geometry then click on rotate. You can adjust the angle of the video to your preference.
I usually used the rotate adjustment when I capture a quick video of my little boy in an inverted view.
