My son is more the 34 months old now and two months to go he is turning three. I am so happy and thankful with his milestones. He easily learns fast and can communicate with every member of the family. Every day or at least thrice a week I make sure that he will be learning from my teachings with the aid of other things.

- Cute Filipino two year-old boy
So, How do I Help my two year-old toddler become more advanced in learning?
- Teach body parts while dressing and bathing. This is our fresh bonding moments. Now that he loves to play with water, there are times that we take a bath together. Aside from teaching him body parts I also teach him some things that we usually use in taking a bath.
- Use toys with shapes. Different kinds of toys with shapes really helps a lot. Since my little boy already knew basic colors and shapes, I also teach him to describe what he sees completely and let him explore his imagination with the shapes and colors of food. (Example- A red circle cookie).
- Let your child talk on a toy phone. Kids are truly imaginative. There are times that I let him speak live with other members of the family on the phone.
- Look at family pictures with your child and tell a story. My little boy easily recognizes the names of our family pictures and he loves to see it again several times.
- Sing songs, play children’s music and dance with your child. We love singing songs together. When we sing and dance, there are times that we go crazy like Yo Gabba Gabba. This is the best way to exercise your child and surely he will sleep in time.
- Play “follow the leader” games. We played this once but I found myself following my little boy. He tricks me with this game.
- Count things out loud to teach your child about numbers (count eggs in the cartoon, stairsteps as you go up, fingers and toes). My little boy is still counting up to twenty and I heard him that he is trying to count higher but I do not want to force him.
- Read you child a book of rhymes. He enjoyed the educational books that I bought and he already pick his favorites.
- Let your child have a choice when possible: for example, say “Do you want an Apple or banana? Now that he knows that we have different food stock for him, he voluntarily says “Mommy will show you something” (May ipapakita ako sayo) that is my other way to show my affection and love for him.
