Every person dreams of having her dream home. The kitchen is one of the busiest parts of the house most especially for those who loves to cook. It is every woman’s dream to have her own ideal kitchen. This post marks my first modern industrial kitchen makeover.
BEFORE PHOTO: The photo above is our actual daily kitchen dubbed as the “Dirty Kitchen”. We have a different formal kitchen near the dining area. It does not look good, but we have beautiful memories of all the dishes that were cooked here. This is the back part of our home. We make sure that the kitchen is a conducive place to cook. We have installed a sliding glass door with screen. The sliding door is usually open, allowing the natural air and light to pass through the kitchen. The ceilings were high too, and it has insulation to prevent the heat coming from the roof to the kitchen. An exhaust fan was installed that we normally switch on when cooking.
When we moved-in last 2016, we just did a simple extension of the daily or dirty kitchen. To save money, we didn’t buy extra kitchen items or furniture nor installed kitchen cabinets and fancy lights. We just use the old kitchen items or tool that we have. I told husband that we will save up and will do kitchen improvement soon.
AFTER PHOTO: Fast forward, we did it! This is our Modern Industrial Kitchen Makeover!
First, we replaced the kitchen tiles to bigger tiles that matches the hues of the cooktop kitchen cabinets across it. We actually replaced already the faucet with a new functional adjustable one, I just took a photo before it was installed. Under the sink is a multipurpose cabinet where we store some kitchen items.
On top of the kitchen lavatory is a simple shelf where I place the usual spices needed for cooking. Each basket contains garlic, onions, ginger, potato or sweet potato. The material of the kitchen bottom cabinets is made up of Aluminum so less worries for its maintenance.
What makes this a Modern Industrial Kitchen makeover?
My kitchen improvement is a modern industrial kitchen design because of the presence of high ceiling, expose beams, and piping with a combination of modern design of kitchen cabinets and practical arrangement of cooktop, oven, and sink. We installed LED strips below the hanging cabinet to brighten cooktop and set a homey mood.
I have a pullout cabinet for condiments and two drawers for kitchen utensils and baking tools. I have enough storage with this Kitchen cabinet design.
The materials used in my kitchen cabinets are an Aluminum and aluminum cladding. The advantage of these materials is that it is less maintenance compared to a wooden modular cabinet. Thank you to Sir Allan Luistro’s team of ARL Executive Enterprise who made the kitchen cabinets. My kitchen design was made into reality. I am thankful! The cooktop is a whole granite slab bought from CW home depot Imus. The kitchen textured gloss curved walls were bought from the FC Tile Depot in Molino, Cavite.
The total cost of our Modern Industrial Kitchen Makeover is around one hundred thousand pesos.
