Do you remember my post about interior house flooring for bedroom? We chose the rustic wood planks design. I’ve been longing to post about our home improvement, here it is!
As of the moment, the floor tiles up and down were installed. The interior of our house is becoming beautiful. We made some adjustments in the second floor based on the recommendations of the architect that did the plan for our fencing and extension.
Interior house flooring for bedroom
The photo above is the actual wood planks installed in our bedroom. Sorry I can’t post a neat photo yet because home improvement is going on. There is mess everywhere although the carpenters clean the parts the moment they are done with work.
Wondering why we prefer this tile wood planks?
- This flooring design reminds me of my childhood memories. I grew up with this kind of flooring design at home. The difference is that the flooring that we had at our ancestral home way back years is real wood.
- It is the traditional wood flooring design during the 70’s to 80’s. The length of the flooring is another distinction.
- The 70’s/ 80’s wood planks flooring is longer compared to the recent tile wood planks. Both can make beautiful flooring but the real wood planks has a disadvantage when you neglect the wood care maintenance. Still our ancestral home with real wood planks are in good condition with proper maintenance, although some parts needs a renovation due to old age.
- The cost and installation of tile wood planks might be expensive but in the long run I think it is more durable and easy to maintain.
We don’t want to haste our home improvement and finishing. We take it seriously that we wanted every detail and budget of our house properly managed. Now that the floor tiles and partitions were almost done, next is the interior design.
On Interior Designing
Because we are on a tight budget, hubby and I work together for the interior designs. We didn’t hire an interior designer. Of course most of the designs are coming from me. From the ceilings, walls down to the baseboard, I visualize the interior that I wanted. Hubby is in-charge for the design at the ceilings.
I have so many things to share with you. Almost done with the stairs and the toilet and bathroom at the first floor. So many works to do! Now I can say that the finishing of the house is truly a long process! We’ll get it done!
