Last weekend I was invited with the press launch of Kumon Philippines Education and Parenting Seminar 2012 held at Chateau 1771, Greenbelt 5. As a mom, I was so excited to learn more about Kumon in the Philippines. Ms. Jasmine Mendiola (blogger and mom to Mio of http://www.miofightscancer.com/) hosted the event. During the press launch, several questions were raised and answered by Kumon Philippines: Ina Duller (Public Relations Division Leader), Henry Tenedero (Education Reform Advocate), Tadashi Nakatsuka (President Kumon Philippines), Susie Tsoi (Kumon Instructor), and Allan Aguirre (Communications and Human Capital Group Leader).

What is the recommended age for a child to start Kumon? (My question)
There is no age limit in Kumon. Understand the child, learn the study habits and perseverance. If your child has not yet started regular schooling, you may bring him to the Kumon center and the Kumon instructor will assess his readiness level.

My child started Kumon last year, Nov 2011 to be exact. And I can say na magnda talaga ito. Super advanced ang anak ko sa mga classmates nya ngayon. Thanks to Kumon. Well, kahit medyo mahal ung fee every month, ok lng dahil super worth it talga. 🙂

We, too, have Kumon here but haven’t considered sending my daughter there yet.
I’m all for exploring more ways to educate my daughter and I will consider Kumon too when the time comes that she’ll go to school.
how much sa kumon?
From what I have heard in the press lauch Kumon cost Php1,800 per module and it depends on the ability of the child of how long he is going the finish the module. Also, the price depends on the grade (preschool,grade school or High school)
My eldest tried Kumon a few years back and when the next school year came, Math was so easy, he actually excelled!

Kumon is a great program. I’m a teacher, and whenever we have struggling students, we always advise Kumon for them.
Why pay for Kumon when you can get worksheets at a fraction of that price and you can do them online.
