It’s been almost almost two weeks since we celebrated the Chinese New year. At home, we still have a stock of the popular Chinese sweet sticky food “Tikoy” that is believed to bring more good luck. Normally we cook Tikoy by dipping it with egg and frying it. Sometimes, I get bored with this cooking and the taste felt greasy and dull. There are other ways to cook Tikoy so I tried the other way.
The photo above is the actual Fried and Crispy Tikoy that I cooked. Instead of using flour as indicated on the box, I use cornstarch. The result is a crispy fried Tikoy. It was so easy to cook the Crispy Fried Tikoy.
Crispy Fried Tikoy Recipe and Procedure
- You will need Cornstarch, cooking oil and Tikoy sliced thinly about 1.5 to 2 inches size.
- Slice the tikoy into suggested size.
- Use the cornstarch to cover the slices of Tikoy.
- Fry in medium heat with enough cooking oil.
